A contemporary musical based on the 2007 movie about two musicians – an Irish busker, identified only as Guy, and a Czech pianist referred to as Girl – who meet on the street in Dublin, spend several days together and develop a deep and special bond. Like the movie, it features the songs by a real-life Irish-Czech duo, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. One of the songs, “Falling Slowly” won an Oscar for Best Original song. The show also won a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album.
