July 4th Celebrations

It will take place at 1314 Guadalupe Street, where the orchestra’s offices are located, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. No word about what they will be playing but patriotic music would be a logical choice. Listeners are invited to bring a blanket and relax on the lawn. Breakfast treats & other refreshments will be served. Joining the music making is a “Live Brass Quintet” but the players are not named. The event is sponsored by UTSA and the Avenida Guadalupe Association. Free.

The Alamo City Arts Heart of Texas Concert Band will join the festivities with a concert celebrating Morton Gould, “an American Original.” The mighty band, which is really an orchestra minus string instruments, will be joined by the River City Ringers of San Antonio for a patriotic concert.
