Here’s good news for the many fans of the late Johnny Cash and his wife and stage partner for many years, June Carter Cash: This weekend you have a chance to see: “A Man Named Cash,
The Premier Tribute to the Music and Lives of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash.”
The show stars vocalist Eric Hofmanis who was selected by the Johnny Cash Estate and John Carter Cash, (Cash’s son) to be the lead vocalist for the show. The show is live, high energy that takes you through the music and iconic legacy of Johnny Cash. (March 28 at 7:30 p.m. Empire Theater;

And speaking of the Tobin, the venue has announced that The Orchestra San Antonio will be the resident orchestra of the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. The ensemble will make its debut March 29 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will also feature top trumpet soloist Pacho Flores and mezzo soprano, Zaireth Perez. The Mid-Texas Symphony presents “Bond and Beyond.” You will hear “Iconic James Bond songs from almost six decades of box office blockbusters with “amazing guest singer, Morgan James.”
The concert will feature music from “Goldfinger,” “For Your Eyes Only,” “From Russia with Love”, and more. In addition, the MTS will dazzle you with soundtracks from “Mission Impossible,”

Ballet Folkorico De San Antonio

The San Pedro Playhouse and the Classic Theatre will be presenting “The Rest is HERStory,” a season spotlighting women-centered stories that inspire, captivate, and entertain for their 2025-26 season. More about that season in a separate article.

Did you know that there’s a World Theatre Day, established by the International Theater Institute in 1961, and celebrated annually on March 27. It honors the impact of theater in shaping societies and enriching lives. The day is dedicated to the global exchange of artistic expression, fostering unity and cultural understanding through performance. It is hoped that you will visit a theater on that day, maybe get involved with a company, tell people about a show, etc.

The Boerne Community Theater is opening “Tacky Gardens” by Kathryn Rossetter. It’s a prize-winning script from the Theater Network of Texas (TNT) POPS! Competition. At the Overtime Theater, you can see “Monday” by Amy Abrigo, a story of a comedian navigating the tumultuous aftermath of a sexual assault. The play presents an unflinching look at the intersection of humor and pain, survival and silence, and ultimately, the courage it takes to seek justice and connection. The big event coming up on the visual arts scene is the Briscoe Museum’s famous Night of Artists, opening March 28-29.  This is the Western Art Museum’s most anticipated event/exhibition of the year and one of the largest Western Art exhibitions and sales in the world. It is the museum’s signature event which sparked the creation of the museum on the River Walk. The exhibition will be on display through May 11. Artists and collectors from all walks of life and all corners of the globe will gather to revel in more than 270 new works of painting, sculpture and mixed media by 85 of the country’s leading contemporary Western artists “whose works are as varied as the rich colors of the West itself” says the press release.

The two-day celebration includes the exclusive collector experiences, artist demonstrations, a live auction and the highly anticipated Luck-of-the-Draw Sale. Featured artists include Kyle Ma, Ed Natiya, Howard Post, Jim Vogel, Bonnie Marris, Teresa Elliot, Jeremy Lipking and many more.
