The traditional annual On & Off Fredericksburg Road Studio Tour includes more than 80 participating artists. They will open their studios or exhibit in businesses and galleries in the historic Deco District. Irish for a Day: Featuring Trio Allegro: The Tuesday Musical Club welcomes Trio Allegro for a concert program celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.   Dr. Catherine Nix (soprano), Dr. Rita Linard (flute) and Christine Debus (piano) will perform a wide variety of musical selections connected to the Emerald Isle and its charm. The program will feature traditional folk songs as well as more contemporary pieces. Stay after the music for treats provided by TMC members. SA Folkfest: The 68th Folklife and Dance festival will have lots of music and dance. Among participating groups are Ballet Folklorico de San Antonio; Fire on the Mountain Cloggers, the St. Sophia Greek Dancers, and others. The San Antonio Botanical Garden has “a captivating, large-scale immersive art experience,” named Otherwild, that transforms the Garden into a vibrant world where wonder takes root and the “sky comes alive.” This “experience” is created by artist Patrick Shearn. The public is invited to attend the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the SculptureGarden “The Commons.” The exhibit is Curated by Lana Meador, curator of modern art and contemporary art at the San Antonio Museum of Art. The exhibit will feature seven outdoor sculptures.

Now, let’s see what is coming up in music!

World-famous Spanish guitarist, Pablo Sainz-Villegas returns to the Tobin Center for an innovative show with the AGARITA Quartet that features several world-premieres. (March 22 at 3 p.m., Tobin Center.)

On April 12, Camerata San Antonio will present its annual Camerata Recital featuring the “extraordinary pianist” Victor Valkov. (April 12 at 2 p.m., San Antonio Christ Episcopal Church, 510 Belknap Pl, 78212; for more info contact emily@cameratasa.org)

San Antonio has relatively little dance and ballet, but here is one opportunity to see the New- York City-based Ballet Nepantla   that’s bringing its ballet “Valentina” to the Carver Community Cultural Center, in celebration of Women’s History Month. A couple of years ago, we had the opportunity to see the show, and we recommend it. “Valentina” tells the compelling stories of women and their roles during the Mexican Revolution through extraordinary dance and innovative choreography. The show melds cultural traditions and contemporary artistic expression to bring history and identity to life on stage. The company features 11 professional dancers. The Esperanza Peace and Justice Center and director Azul Barrientos are proud to announce the return of Todos Agua lll, San Antonio’s third annual water festival, taking place from March 21-28. Throughout the week, elders, activists, artists and community members gather to contemplate our relationship with water through conversation, shared reflection, art and ancestral traditions. Lighten Up is a festival of “Conscious Art and Culture in San Antonio”- light installations, live music, holistic vendors, dance workshops, poetry, yoga, and more. (Saturday, March 21;
4- 9 p.m. at the Woodlawn Casting Pond and Park, 138 S. Josephine Tobin Drive) free to the public and will feature live music, holistic vendors, mandala installations, floating illuminated artworks, and more.
