Jazz Meets Classical, an evening where two musical worlds “collide in perfect harmony.” The concert brings together the sophistication of classical music with the vibrant spontaneity of jazz in a bold program featuring works by Bartok, Bernstein and Balentine. For the occasion, the musicians of the San Antonio Philharmonic join forces with some of the finest jazz artists from Central Texas. Teens on a Mission IV: The Resurgence is a vibrant music and arts event showcasing the talents of local teen bands, artists and vendors. And here’s something different: Experience a ground-breaking fusion of opera and innovative theater as Opera San Antonio presents Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” in the internationally acclaimed production by Barri Kosky and the British Theater group 1927. The Houston Press described the production as “spellbinding,” and “state-of-the art” and “mesmerizing.”

And speaking of museums, The San Antonio Museum of Art – SAMA – invites San Antonians to “join them” for a special Tuesday celebration showcase “The vibrant beauty of Lippan Art and Rangoli,” presented in partnership with The India Association of San Antonio (IASA). You’ll experience the rich cultural traditions of these stunning Indian art forms. IASA president and secretary will guide visitors in exploring the meaning and making of these traditional designs.

Bihl Haus Arts will present “Printmaking from San Antonio and Beyond” an exhibition of fine art prints highlighting the diverse voices and innovative techniques of contemporary printmakers.  “This exhibition reflects the energy and creativity driving today’s print artists,” said Kathleen Baker Pitman, curator of the show. Artists from Austin Houston, New Mexico, California and Mexico are also included. (Opens June 14, 6-9 p.m. open through July 12.)
