Guadalupe River Floods- July 4, 2025
In angry tribulation the waters will tremble and riseโ
Gabriela Mistral โ God Wills It
The sorrow of the world gathered over Texas and let go.
Guadalupe riverbanks trembled.
A clearing of souls left bodies in tree limbs to spread sorrow,
The river wept
children from their beds
with rocks and pebbles
tumbled so wildly they landed
on upside down cars and teddy bears.
Grief gathered its own dew in the torment.
A new walking that only angels understand.
What can be harvested from the mud left on our feet?
We are left praying the cypress rosary.
Still standing sycamores whisper that old gospel refrain.
Take me to the Spirit in the Sky.
