Sacred Art of Altars, 2021

A couple of weeks ago we told you about the unique exhibit and sale called One People, Many Paths: The Sacred Art of Altars, organized by the equally unique Celebration Circle, an inclusive multi-faith community. Here’s how they define themselves: “We honor the sacred in ourselves, each other and All of Creation.”

Once a year, the good folks of Celebration Circle invite artists to transform simple wooden boxes into “altars” by expressing their own “Divine inspiration” in the language of visual art. More than 50 artists are included in the 2021 exhibit, which is a major fundraiser for the organization. They all start with the same-size box created by Hill Country craftsman Skip Gerson.

The online exhibit and bidding opened Oct. 1 and about 45% of the pieces have current bids listed. To view the artworks and bid on specific pieces go to https://m.charityauctionstoday.com/m/auctions/celebration-circle-sacred-art-of-altars-exhibit-online-auction-2021-25704/items

But to see the art in 3-D, plan to attend the closing in-person reception at the Brick at Blue Star, tomorrow, Oct. 20, 6-9 p.m. This is a rare opportunity to own an original work of art for a very reasonable price. All pieces start at $75. In-person bidding closes at 8:45 p.m.

The images we are including here are just a sample of what the exhibit offers.
