St. Mary’s University ‘s Christmas Spectacular Concert is scheduled for Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. It will feature the university’s orchestra, choir, wind ensemble, jazz orchestra, theater arts and Mariachi music. One of America’s most beloved voices, Mavis Staples, will perform at the Carver Community Cultural Center on Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. She has spent seven decades inspiring audiences around the world with her powerful blend of gospel, soul and rhythm & blues.
Joaquin & the Glowliners bring “Chicano Motown” to life in soulful harmonies (Nov. 14 at 8 p.m.; Little Carver Civic Center; seating at tables for four.)
At the Empire Theater you can enjoy another Beatles Tribute titled: “1964-The Tribute”

Known for cutting-edge performances that tour the globe, The Water Street Dance-Milwaukee pushes the boundaries of contemporary dance, leaving you breathless and inspired. And more at the Tobin: “Blank Space,” the unofficial Taylor Swift Tribute. (Nov. 29 at 2 p.m.; tickets start at $43). And there’s more! The Tobin has announced the return of Shen Yun in early2026; Jan 9-25, 2026; tickets are $92.50 – $212.50.
The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center invites artists to enter the 44th Annual Tejano Conjunto Festival 2026 Poster Contest for a chance to win $2,000 and have their artwork featured on all festival materials. The poster must include the following: “Tejano Conjunto Festival En San Antonio 2026.” Any accordion imagery should depict a button accordion. (Deadline is January 26 2026 at 5 p.m.; winners will be announced Feb. 19, 2026; for complete rules and the entry form, visit www.guadalupeculturalarts.org. The Center is also bringing back Hecho a Mano Holiday Artisan Market; Dec 7 at 10a.m. to 4p.m.; Guadalupe Latino Bookstore; free and open to the public. In addition, the Guadalupe Dance Company will host dance workshops at the dance Studio (723 S. Brazos).
And there’s a lot of good art out there at this time. One event, Empty Bowls is presented by SAMMinistries with support of the San Antonio Potters Guild, the San Antonio Glass Arts Art Guild and the Alamo Woodturners Association. This beloved community event showcases the talent of local artisans, musicians and a silent auction of the beautiful bowls. When you buy a bowl, you’ll receive a bowl of soup and a piece of bread. This small meal serves to make us mindful of people facing homelessness and who go hungry every day. The bowls are made by artisans and are beautiful.

The Ruby City Exhibition, curated by Elyse Gonzales, brings together abstract paintings from multiple artists with works dating from recent past to as early as 1945. Titled “Sensing Meaning, Abstract Painting” showcases the diverse approaches to abstraction that artists have adopted. (Will be on view through Aug. 30, 2026. Included artists are Jesse Amado and Nate Cassie, as well as the work of Jennifer Agricola Mojica and Hills Snyder.)
ArtPace has announced the opening of a Fall 2025 International Artist-in-Residence exhibition featuring the following artists: Ian Gerson (from Houston), Elana Herzog, (from New York) and Goldie Poblador (from Manila, Philippines).

URBAN 15’s Holiday Laser show 2025, will take place Dec. 21 at Edgewood Theater for the Performing Arts; Dec. 21 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Complimentary tickets will become available Nov. 15 at URBAN 15.
